Reiss Nelson’s early goal was enough to settle Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup tie at Gtech Community Stadium, as Arsenal advanced to the fourth round after a 1-0 win over Brentford.
Nelson capitalised on an unfortunate Zanka backpass to roll the Gunners ahead after just eight minutes.

The home side struggled to put the Arsenal goal under sustained pressure before the break, but it was a different story in the second half.

Aaron Ramsdale made two outstanding saves to deny Yoane Wissa and Frank Onyeka, while substitutes Saman Ghoddos and Keane Lewis-Potter both saw shots cleared off the line as the away side clung on to progress.

  1. Brentford should seriously fear being related. They have gotten progressively worse every game. Janelt and Jorgensen cannot defend. Do not trade Toney to Arsenal!

  2. We played very well considering we are missing very key players
    Baptiste, schade, toney(he is still out it doenst matter why), rico (100%), damsgaard.. ect

  3. Considering r mounting injury list of key players, I think we did pretty well;
    We got subs of r best players out like Trosse' 4 Partey-both injured.
    Spicy Ricey ,Marti' 4 Saka – all injured not t mention Timber-land etc so if Brentford f all their domination still couldn't take us, what does it say about them?

  4. brentford could have got a draw in 90 mins… not more, lets keep things realistic… we need signings in January.. or hang on in there until Summer… where are all the young foreign signings for 2,3,4 mil ? we should have at least 4 of 18/19 year olds in our squad instead of sloppy average older players.. our style is very demanding and need sharp aggressive talent.
