      Other so called 'elite' managers never came close to the togetherness and style Gareth has them playing. Last night was a chance for Gareth to look at out fringe players. It's all too easy to sling mud … When we do finally win a trophy, I hope you're at the front of the queue with the rest of the rest of the naysayers: Jordan, Goldbridge, Jenningset al. The main we reason most of the country is so optimistic is BECAUSE, not in spite, of Gareth Southgate and so I totally agree – Back Southgate now! (you need to check your spelling!). Jim.

      I think we owe our relative success to the talent at Southgate's disposal rather than his tactics. England shouldn't be struggling against Australia. IDC whether it's a friendly or not. England's B team should be winning. Southgate luckily will leave after 2014. So there's a glimmer of hope that by 2016, we'll see a manager capable of getting the best out of a team that could at long last win. I agree, we're predictable, Italy know our line up.       When we boo, we are booing Southgate’s selection, we are NOT booing the players he selects. BIG difference. Southgate is crushing the life out of a generation of young players who need development. Gordon and Phillips are two notable casualties. He can’t coach decent performances out of promising younger players so he avoids them in favour of unimaginative has-beens, Slabhead, Granddad and Rashford being selected when they are bang out of form is criminal. He’s wasting potential.

      Fans in general are not nice Infact quite nasty they don’t need much of a reason to start hating someone, best thing you can do is judge and make your opinions in life rather than join the hate mob, bollox to um they will continue the hate even if Southgate wins the tournament in Germany next summer.

      Imagine going from being coached by Pep, JĂŒrgen or Arteta to then having to listen to Gareth's tactics. 🙈😆😆
      Let's no over react after this game though. Most of our 1st team wasn't playing. Having Jude, Declan, Saka and Kane on, we're a much better team.

      A better manager would have had England with at worst the european cup and probably two time beaten world cup finalists. His "sucess" prevents him from getting sacked.

      Terry. did you watch the match, or did you just look at the score? I agree with what you're saying, but none of the first team played in the game. The game has no relevance to what England can do. My point is, it's the wrong game to have a "rant" about.

      If i was the fa boss… id be talking to wenger and stevie g. Head coach amd assistant. Wenger gets england playing wonderful football… stevie g as his right hand man… wenger reaches 2018 final. Wins euro 2021. And gets past france in 2022.. his greatest strength was to let the players be creative. 9/10 out of 10 it worked then that 1 it was a disaster. The midfield and attack we have is the best in the world and our bench is the strongest in the world. Wenger would have kane saka jack g Bellingham and maddison or foden play with freedom.. let the players show how good they are. With rice as a 4 we can afford to let them go.. plus he would play white tomari stones reece (yes lb hes still better than shaw Chilwell out of position) our best back 4 on paper. Ramsdale in goal. Dice as the 4 jude and maddison as a fluid 8 and 10 saka on the right.. that white partnership is next level. Jackie g on the left also fliud with the 8 amd 10.. amd kane just does what he never does… stays in the box slapping the chamces home instead of dropping deep leaving our insane creative players no man to give the tap in too. Literally have in startimg 11 players in top 10 in the world in their positions.

      How can fans have faith in the manager when he’s still not giving players a chance even in friendlies and picking players that don’t even play regularly for there club sides it’s an absolute joke what message does it give out to these players who are playing out of there skins week in and week out and aren’t getting a sniff it’s disgraceful

      Totally Agree, did not even watch the game, as soon as I saw the team sheet I knew it would be a low scoring borefest! Better off watching the Eng U21.

      With all the great performances from English players in the EPL, all the talent England has on the team
.Southgate manages to make them play like a pack of NoOBs.

      Horrible to watch, Southgate can’t even get the best out of Englands best players and picks lads who aren’t even getting games over lads in form.

      The Ozzy game was a great chance to have a look at Burn, Longstaff and many other inform players.

      Maybe Australia are just a better team than you think. Football exists outside Europe. Australia were better than England everywhere but finishing.
