Happy Boxing Day or football day as I call it.
I’m sure you have all seen that Boxing Day 1963 graphics 50 times already.
So here are the results from that day in 1963 from that season. Not as a wild as the top flight but still mad result in Manchester. Although they would miss out on promotion City would win shock Title 4 years later.
The biggest game of the day was the Top two battling it out at Elland Road. Both teams would go up but Leeds would have rather more success when they got up there.
Whilst Sunderland fought relegation, Leeds Incredibly almost won the double losing out on the title on Goal Average to Busby’s Man U and the FA Cup to Bill Shankly’s Liverpool courtesy of 112 minute winner from Ian St John.
