Having them race along the touchline collecting the balls is one very good way of getting the youngsters used to the roar of the Anfield crowd before they get to kick a ball on the pitch. Can’t be intimidated by the volume and the passion if you have been that close to the crowd for every home game.

Such a fantastic feeling with our academy boys. I used to feel nervous years ago putting out the kids in cup games. Now I feel excitement, these guys want to prove themselves, the passion, the club, the confidence, the boss flows through their veins. What a time to be alive.
