We’ve went from relegation form to autos form to relegation form this season, people are hoping for the return of autos form but they’re forgetting how shit we look on the actual pitch.

We got tangibly much worse between this year and last year – we should never have expected to get playoffs with this squad and if we did somehow fluke it (which is possible, owing to the fact that this division is fucking mad) it would be a truly sobering experience. It’s mad to think that one of Leeds, Leicester, Southampton, Ipswich won’t go up – we are nowhere near any of them in quality terms (daft supersayan performances against Leicester aside). Carrick had to build a team as strong as last year that a) isn’t reliant on loans and b) keeps players committed. It’s a big summer for him
