Who’s up for a four way autos shootout on the final day?
Would love it to go to the last day with all 4 teams with a chance of automatics. Which is what I think is going to happen with the top 3 stumbling and Southampton winning including games in hand.
Nah we’ll crumble ourselves and take us out of any chance of automatic 🤣

Wonderful!
Ipswich and Leicester on Autos for me, Leeds in playoffs. I’d be happy for that.

Although the last few weeks have been **fun** ^FML. I can’t see all 3 top teams going to the last day without at least 1 getting enough points to pull ahead. None of them have easy run ins. Perhaps Ipswich have the best. Leicester also have the game in hand and even a point from that is a bit advantage.
Personally I think all 3 are going to drop points. But not enough to bring Saints back. If Leeds and Leicester manage a draw with them, they are done.
My prediction is, 1st will be sewn up (I think by Ipswich) and 2nd is decided by who does better on the day (with Leeds taking it on GD from Leicester). Likely with Leicester getting a 0-0 and Leeds getting a very late equaliser at Saints.

The shit sleep the entire week before, the silent trudging journey from station to pub, the complete lack of atmosphere at the pub.
God I love/hate football.

I’d rather have Leeds and Southampton ahead of the other two personally, so that game become a playoff final effectively. As it stands, it’s looking like both may need to win AND hope other results hold out.
A winner takes all battle to the death match between those two would be enough for me to sack off the Sunderland home game and watch that in the pub instead

id rather just be shot personally.

This would give Southampton flashbacks to 2005 I swear.

Absolutely not. Blackburn have already jagged a point off Southampton and a win off Leeds in the last 10 days, and they weren’t terrible against Ipswich. I wouldn’t back us to beat them at all right now, so if it goes to the final day, we probably don’t go up.

Considering how I’ve convinced myself we are terrible playing early kickoffs this would be absolutely horrible. It’d be even worse if Huddersfield needed a point to stay up and just sat back and shithoused it all game.
Oh god, I’m now certain this is going to happen.

I’ll be travelling during all the games. Luckily I’m not driving so will be watching them on my phone. I have a feeling that the Mrs may get upset while I’m shouting at the screen while she’s driving.

It is making me feel sick even though based on the current standing it would be great for us to even be in this situation.
At least in this scenario you have the playoffs as a backup. The playoff final must be worse because there is no second chance after that. But I guess in that scenario at least you aren’t praying for results elsewhere to go your way.

If we’re even within 2 points of Leeds by this day I’ll be delighted. We have to go to Leicester first. 3 point gap won’t do it because their GD is way better than ours. It has to be 2 points or less.
I suspect we go up if we win all our remaining games, but literally nothing less will do.

Given how teams who miss out on autos on the final day seem to fare in the playoffs, I’m all for it

You’ve focused on the top 4, but while Blackburns win at Leeds put them a lot closer to safety it’s entirely possible Huddersfield & Blackburn will also be needing results to avoid relegation so these games will be massive at both ends of the table.

I think Blackburn will be secure by the last day, so while they’ll want another scalp it won’t be quite the same atmosphere as the Leeds game. Also ignore the last sentence, as this is the Championship (which feels a bit like ‘THIS IS SPARTA!).

If I may throw in my 2 cents: absolutely fucking not.

The Ipswich/Leeds run in is really fucked up. Not sure who had it worse. On the run up to the final game one set of fans has to watch the other team play 2 games and then hope they can do enough to catch up while the other has to do what they can and sit back and hope it’s enough with both likely to need something in the last day. Both seem horrifying.

Are we one of the 4 teams?

Why do I have a feeling if Southampton win on the final day they could get second. We’ve really dug a hole for ourselves being in the weakest position of the top three. Mental season. To go up I think we need to win all of our remaining games.

Praying it’s still in our hands by this point. As long as it is, I feel like we would find a way.
