      It’s been a sorry showing from all three. None have reached 30 points, not been competitive enough.

      Good God it’s horrible up there. Commiserations to Leicester, Ipswich & who ever wins the playoffs.

      In all seriousness it’s been a series of mistakes at all levels of the club – board, manager & players.

      Unnecessarily dismantled the squad that went up a year ago with ok to poor replacements

      From the teams that went down was the one who spent the most in the summer, by a large margin.

      And you see, even spending money you can struggle in that souless and overly marketed inflated league.

      Is it fair to say Burnley’s squad last year in the Championship was as good or better than this Premier League squad?

      Losing Tella and not replacing, losing Mattsen and not replacing, signing Trafford, a lot of mistakes have been made at the board level.

      I’ve said elsewhere but with the way they won the league, I thought Burnley would do better in the PL compared to Luton. They’ll still be a threat next season with that parachute money, if spent wisely** of course.

      When you think how long Burnley were competitive in the prem on a relative shoestring before they finally got relegated I’m really surprised they did so poorly given the apparent revolution under Kompany. I didn’t expect much of Luton or Sheffield United but I really thought Burnley would push for a top half finish, they looked unplayable for most of the last two thirds of the season, just a class above the Championship. The players they brought in were mainly hits, they looked totally prem ready to me. The fact not one of them have got over 30 points and were only in the fight to survive due to points deductions above…..it’s not been a vintage year for Championship clubs being promoted sadly.

      Now they’ll probably come back down and win it again a la Norwich, though.

      Bolton potentially coming up, Burnley coming down.

      Yesss…more teams starting with a letter B.

      Thats why we didn’t get promoted this year. Promotion next year for us then.
