  1. He’s still actively managing but seems promising. Attacking manager who uses a 4-3-3 is a nice change

Dane here, who watches a lot of FCN’ games on danish TV and a good handfull of Norwich games a year (always liked their colours).

I’m suprised with the news, since he is very new in his management career. But he is very capable and have been near the top with FCN the last two years, with the youngest squad in europe (correct me if i’m wrong), just losing out on the title both years.

In his time at the club, they have sold young players for massive amounts of money; Nuamah, Schjelderup Osman. Which is the clubs DNA (before Thorup’s time they sold players such as Skov Olsen, Damsgaard, Kudus, Adingra, Kamaldeen.

This year in europe, Thorup almost got the team through the conference league group stages, which would have been a first time for the club. Which included a 6-1 beating of Fenerbache, but just needing a draw in Bulgaria on the final day, the young team blew it.

About his style of play: offensive 433, technical football, with a lots of one-twos and trickery around the box. Also very fast counter football.
Downside to his style: can be a bit naive defensively, and generally lots of risktaking. But eye-candy football mostly, and being a former youth coach, that likes to develop young players, Sainz, Sara and Rowe should enjoy it. And maybe he will use players like Elliot Myles earlier, så you don’t throw more gold into the streets.

Yesterday FCN played 3-3 against FCM, the current leaders at that time, and having led 3-0, FCN only got a draw. That game will show both the good and the bad. But, overall I think he suits Norwich City well. He will bring a focus on young players and intricate attacking football.
