[Shrimps Trust] Morecambe FC are potentially on the brink of no longer existing. Our owner is refusing to sell and fund the club. The supporter’s trust are looking to buy shares in the club to help it not go out of existence completely. Any help, even just awareness of the issue, is appreciated.
Appreciate this isn’t championship but things are getting more desperate by the day over at Morecambe. Sharing here to help raise awareness and would be very appreciative if you guys would share this further on any social media platforms.

Really hope morecambe can stay afloat, this sort of thing isn’t acceptable across any league of football. There are some people whose football clubs are essentially all they have in life and going to the games is the only thing that makes them happy. Hopefully the owner realises this but they don’t sound like the type of person who will, probably some ignorant rich fucker.

Ah fucks sakes. Last time this happened, with Bury, it just felt so shitty to watch a club disappear. At least on the one hand, this stuff usually has a way of working itself out one way or another, but hopefully it works itself out as well as possibly can be, but I suppose we’ll see

Owners who do this should face prosecution of some sort, sadly the powers that be don’t give a monkeys as long as they get their TV money and ad revenue. Shocking.

Why would an owner force the liquidation of a club rather than sell it if that’s the only viable alternative to stopping it going under???? How is that financially beneficial to them at all?
