Hmmm there’s a disconnect here, because I remember someone (I thought Djameel?) saying Luis Enrique was promised that Mbappe would stay beyond 2024, and that he was unhappy that management couldn’t keep that promise.

That $200m bid was straight CAP, the fax machine at Madrid would have broken that night had we called Madrid’s bluff.
