Don’t think he ever really recovered from the injury he had a couple of years ago. Still decent at this level but hasn’t been a top defender for a couple of seasons. Maybe a new environment will reinvigorate him.

Liked him as a defender 90% of the time, could play out from the back reasonably well if the setup suited. Would also drop an absolute clanger once every game and just had to pray it didn’t cost a goal.

Three year deal? Now we see why we (Norwich) didn’t agree a new deal. Great work by his agent.
As a player he’s the epitome of a championship defender. Have heard BG is a great guy, and he had plenty of good games for us (and a few bad ones) so not surprised he got another deal in the championship but there is no way we would have offered him another three years.
For us, we needed to trim the wage bill and our new sporting director has been clear about lowering the squad age.
