  1. >Walter Gfrerer will replace Dr Holger Broich as Head of Performance at FC Bayern with responsibility for athletics and performance from 1 July.

    >Kathleen Krüger, formerly Head of Team Management & Project Lead Sport, becomes Senior Leading Expert Sport Strategy & Development.

    >Kathleen Krüger’s previous position as Head of Team Management Licence Player Area will be taken over by Maciej Jagiellowicz, who will in future be supported by Sebastian Geiler, internal transfer from Partner Support.

  2. >As Head of Performance at FC Bayern, Walter Gfrerer will be responsible for athletics and performance across all clubs from 1 July. He will be responsible for the licensed players as well as for FC Bayern Women and the young talent at the FC Bayern Campus. The 51-year-old Austrian worked as athletics coach at VfL Wolfsburg last season and previously worked as performance manager at AS Monaco and as fitness coach at RB Salzburg.

He brings a wealth of experience from his various positions and will provide new impetus. In general, we have reorganised the sports division of the Executive Board in order to better meet the constantly growing challenges in top international football. In doing so, it was important for us to consciously focus on people who know what FC Bayern stands for – and where it wants to go. We are convinced that our club is also highly professional and optimally positioned for the future behind the scenes.”

    >As part of the structural reorganisation, Kathleen Krüger, formerly Head of Team Management & Project Lead Sport, will take up a staff position as Senior Leading Expert Sport Strategy & Development in the Sport division of the Executive Board in order to coordinate the connections and synergies between all areas of sport, and to optimise it with those responsible.

    >Maciej Jagiellowicz will become Team Manager Licence Player Team Management, and Samuel Geiler will join his team internally from FC Bayern’s partner support department. Bastian Wernscheid, who previously spent three years in team management and has been with the club since 2017, has been supporting Chief Sports Officer Max Eberl and Sports Director Christoph Freund as Head of Sport since 1 January.
