Tbf if premier league clubs aren’t “monitoring” Archie Gray. Then there scouts need sacking.

  2. His ceiling is incredibly high. If this goes right for him then he’s joining a bigger club within two years, and playing for England. If it goes wrong then he’s another Lewis Cook wasting his talent at Premier League blubber, waiting to tail-end his career with a slew of Championship clubs.

  3. Very depressing, having to sell our best academy product in over two decades because of fucking PSR.

Football is indeed getting destroyed, unless you are in that souless piece of shit of a league being ass fucked by the Sky 6, you are hopeless.

Shows how important it is to get out the division ASAP, doubt he would have left if yous went up! 35 million is a lot though and should set yous up for promotion

  5. I’m gutted and naturally think they’ve got him at a steal. I’d have probably found £50m more palatable. I’m especially worried as I expect to lose Summerville and Gnonto too.

I’m curious as to what neutral fans think though. Maybe I can be convinced this isn’t so bad.

Cup your ear to the wind and you’ll hear the sound of dozens of commemorative t shirts going in the bin.

  7. I’m not surprised. We need to sell players and most of the top talent will go in the second year after going down at any club. I expect will lose Summerville, possibly Rutter. Be surprised if by the second transfer window we don’t see people coming in for Ampadu as well.

It’s terrible, but it’s the reality. We need to hope the Americans will spend freely and leave the actual decisions to someone who knows football.

The most difficult thing to me is that for a young player of his talent £35M seems low. If he’d been coming from another Premier League club or a La Liga club that would be £50M.

On paper I think 35+ is great money for an 18 year old lad whose output can be replaced easily. It’s smart for PSR and means we can demand whatever the fuck we want for Summerville and Gnonto as this is 100% profit.

In practice it’s devastating to the fans but we should know better by now. The money in football these days prevents one club players from existing as they used to.

I don’t give a fuck that it’s Brentford. I don’t understand why everyone is so bent out of shape about that part. For the player it’s either a stepping stone club or where he will go to rot. Either way he’s getting paid a great wage and will get game time I’m sure.

Is this officially a done deal? Think it’s a mistake for Gray to move at this point in his career, especially to a club like Brentford. Shame if it happens.

  10. If a club like Brentford feel like they have a shot at getting him, every club in the premier league need to bid for him. Quality player.

  11. We’ll be a championship team for a good few years if they continue to sell players. I guess the entire plan was to bounce straight back up. This is plan B. Flog the lot.
