  1. Seems odd to me that a player can agree terms and get a medical done without his parent club accepting the offer, but my whole knowledge of transfers is based on football manager.

  2. AKA the 49ers have shat it as their latest venture capitalist stunt backfired massively and they wouldn’t be able to stick Eddie in front of the camera’s anymore

You’d presume someone else has come in with a better offer. Otherwise I’m not sure what good can come from letting a player accept personal terms, do his medical and want the move, only to then pull the plug

  4. By all accounts Farke angry, gray family not wanting it and all the fans going nuts, the club folded or actually listened

  5. Leeds- good for you.

Brentford (online) fans, if not the club, are some of the most arrogant in the country and revel in wanting their club to take advantage of financial pressures on others.

They did it to us for two years with Brennan Johnson, then lost him to Spurs because they wouldn’t pay the price and thought we would have to cave and sell to them cheap.

Even in the Premier League, Brentford ain’t that attractive to players.

  6. I can kinda see it from both sides. As a fan I want to keep Archie because he’s a local lad and an amazing homegrown talent who is very much Leeds through and through as are his family, obviously. He’s got so much promise and I want to see him grow with us.

On the other, for all the same reasons he’s worth a LOT of money and I think of all the players we could sell for a good transfer fee, he’s probably the easiest to replace and the one that will make the biggest financial impsct in terms of FFP. And after seeing Milner, Howson, Mowatt, Delph, Kilgallon, Carson, Clarke, Lennon, Cook, Taylor etc etc etc etc etc etc etc all leave the club quite early in their careers in often sideways moves from clubs that at that point in time had the money to offer, I’m kinda desensitised to it these days.

I’m glad we rejected it but still not convinced it means he’s staying.

  7. He’s not stopping at Leeds though, spurs will come in with a better offer and he’ll go there

  8. I thought it was quite funny to see Leeds bow down to Brentford but it’s also very funny to see the Brentford fans online who have got egg on their faces after 12 hours of non-stop gloating.
