    # ASHWORTH JOINS MANCHESTER UNITED AS SPORTING DIRECTOR

    >Manchester United and Newcastle United have issued the following joint statement:
    >
    >“Newcastle United and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the immediate release of Dan Ashworth from his contractual obligations at Newcastle United. The terms of this agreement remain confidential between the clubs. Newcastle United thanks Dan for his services and wishes him well for the future.”

God I do enjoy anytime we solidify Newcastle as some sort of pathetic little brothers, barcode weirdos

  3. Wonder if we overpaid for this. Or if on the contrary, we brought the compensation down to a very low amount and Newcastle want to keep it confidential.

  4. Good to know that things are moving behind the scenes and shows the media havnt a clue what’s going on.

Omar starts in 2 weeks which means we’ll have completed our major appointments in leadership positions in an incredibly efficient manner.

    Great to see.

I wonder if we’ll actually hear about the fee. This makes me think it’s more than we wanted and less than barcodes wanted.

  6. Barcode FC can hold that. I heard we paid less for him then they did to get him from Brighton.

  7. Ashworth done, Berrada starting in 2 weeks, Ten Hag new deal with van Nistelrooy and Hake new assistants to be announced within the next week aswell, then United playing in 2 weeks! Lots going on

I live in Newcastle (Byker), and to a man they are absolutely spitting about this. Constantly saying he never did anything for them, that all their signings and direction came from everyone but him. We’ve given their fanbase a collective aneurysm, it’s brilliant

Really wanted to know what the fee was 😬

  10. Would love to know what the fee was. Saw some Newcastle fans saying it was ÂŁ12 million, others saying it was well below ÂŁ10…

I think the fact it’s been kept quiet is quite telling that it wasn’t a fee one side or the other is particularly proud of.

The preview of the website with this Old Trafford picture looks amazing btw. How do you do it? Do you just copy the website link in the post body section & it shows up like this when you post it?

Finally. Now, hopefully, we’ll be able to not just buy ex Ren Hag or eredivisie playwrs

  13. Finally that saga has ended. Stupid how much attention and coverage it has been over a director.

  14. I think the fee went below 8 million, because Ashworth was suing them and probably would have sued them for compensation because it’s unreasonable to hold him hostage for this long.

It just felt like a power move from the barcodes new owners,
