Although it was touch-and-go there for a moment, the UK national team managed to eke out [a win](https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/30/sport/england-slovakia-last-16-euro-2024-spt-intl/index.html) against the Slovaks. Up until this point, **Matthew Brooker** [says](https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2024-06-29/manchester-united-liverpool-why-is-england-s-superstar-soccer-team-so-bad?sref=2o0rZsF1) the squad has “been greeted with almost universal disappointment,” despite having “entered the tournament with the strongest array of talent it has amassed in recent memory.”

What gives? Perhaps the team has one too many multimillionaire star athletes on its roster. “The too-much-talent effect suggests that in team sports such as football where interdependence is key, too much talent can impair performance,” Martin Kilduff, a professor of organizational behavior at University College London, told Matthew.

The players are highly overrated. Can’t put it all on Southgate, this is the media’s fault (again) for acting like this team is way better than it is. This tournament was Frances from the off and no other nation is anywhere near Frances level of quality, ability and integrity.

They suffer from entitlement and think they deserve to win rather than actually working for the win and playing seriously

  4. Is it a superstar soccer team? Compared to Spain Germany and France? Id only put Kane and and Bellingham on the team. And that’s considering Mbappe is a left winger.

Lots of teams are stacked with stars and play shit. Belgium, Italy.

Manager plays those superstars out of usual position.

    Foden, KDB etc.
