Love Thudd. Never really had the mobility and close ball control to become a really elite player but he had a classy, almost retro, style – had a lovely pass on him and his long-range shots were something to see. Was wonderful watching him glide around the pitch in full flow. Didn’t actually score that many goals but my god he could hit them cleanly – he was a bit unlucky as I don’t think I’ve seen another player who hit the bar so many times from distance or forced keepers into so many wonder saves. Look up his goal against Man City if you want to see an incredibly satisfying finish – the ball is like a missile but never rises more than about 40cm above the ground and he hits it so casually.

Good luck with the future Tom!

  2. I’ve not seen many players in world football consistently hit a ball as sweetly as Hudd.

  3. I hope someone from the club invites him to the stadium on a match day in the new season. The man is worth a very decent round of applause.
