Milner is gonna be sat at home kicking himself that he isn’t here to win the crap test.

I remember when Chip Kelly did this in Philly and was viewed as a privacy invading wacko at war with the players’ union. Who’d have thought he really was an innovator? lol

  6. It’ll be really interesting to see how a change from a physicality focused preseason and regime to a technique one affects certain players.

Maybe lads like Jota and Ibou get fewer injuries (in the former’s case we could be unlocking a 40 goal a season striker). We also saw Szobo burn out half way through the season from a combination of lots of hard minutes with us and a lot of minutes for Hungary. Not to mention the squad wide burn out just before the run in which eliminated us from the title race.

the bit about slot having santi gimenez work with medical staff to improve his running style and avoid injury was very interesting. looks like they’re going incredibly in-depth with player analysis in the hopes of individualizing improvement plans

  8. Hands-on approach to testing stool samples? Oh boy, I hope it’s not gonna be a shitty season!

I’m a runner and I like staying up on exercise science. I like what I hear. Periodization is very fundamental to performance. I always thought squads need much more long term rotation. Like each player gets a rotated month off to plan around. Also stool samples are for analyzing the gut biome, which is recently understood to link with performance.
EDIT: on this topic I would also predict much more aggressive nutrition during matches. “Food doping” for running means taking on about 100g of carbs per hour which is hard to do. This would help mental function so would think this would make sense in football.

  10. I’m sure our players will enjoy the change in pace after years of Kornmayer’s pre-season workloads.

Meanwhile in Barca Hansi Flick will insist that those scrawy La Masia kids need to get swole like Goretzka or GTFO lol.
