Probably best move for his career at this point. Unlikely to get the playing time he needs here. Any he would get would likely be at LWB.
I don’t think Warne’s football particularly suits him either.
I think the instability of the club and the type of manager’s we’ve had haven’t helped him or Bird exceed. In Cocu’s team he was getting interest from Prem teams (probably should have sold him then, but we’ve never been great with business… have we?)

Could be a good pickup, but I think that’ll be down to him.
In my opinion, he’s never really improved since he first broke into the side. Couldn’t cement a first team spot under Cocu, Rooney, Rosenior, or Warne. The latter ended up shifting him out to LB, where he was OK.
I hope he does alright. I’m surprised he managed to get a Championship move, though I thought he’d go back to League One.
