There should be a third party to check it out due to conflict of interest.

I mean analysis of the commercial revenue will be very easy as they will be a benchmark with plenty of teams that have done deals. I mean you can use tickets sales and even social of that time to understand the clubs status.

If they get deals close to Manchester United within the first 3 years then it be questionable. They are a commercial tank even till today they still get great deals and have not been near winning a league.

Of course they do. They firmly believe they should be allowed to do as they please.

  4. Did they not sign up to these same rules that they are now calling “unfair”?

People wont even read the article, its enough to have Man City in the title to put people in a frenzy lol.

But objectively speaking they do have a valid concern regarding Nielsen. While i do think they are professionals, my MiL even worked there for more than a decade, the fact that they are contracted to several teams in the PL and then being picked by the PL for the audit of City does raise questions of a conflict of interest.

The claim that the rules were introduced to discriminate against gulf owners is interesting as well. While i have no issues at all with that ideologically, id extend it to all foreign owners tbh, the reality is, that football is so highly commercialised these days, that this _could_ be turned to make it an issue of breaching competitive law and active (racial) discrimination. If they can contrast blocked takeovers from gulf investors to successful to eg american owners, this might be a very potent angle, actually.

Re the revenue rules, ive always felt that the rules are tricky and not clear cut “good” or “bad”. Its a trade off and you can see why either side would have genuine grievences with it. People just dismiss some valid concerns being brought up, because City is at the forefront and hating everything City is en vogue these days.
