Would England not rather win a match in ninety minutes, hammer a team three or four nil rather than grind out a result through a penalty shootout?

I'm a lot happier we got the Dutch in the semis,,They will be a s nervous as us ,and they do give you chances,
If Turkey had made it ,I would of really worried ,in the Dutch game ,the latter parts they were all over the Dutch ,and were unlucky not to score ,could you imagine them in the semis ,they would have nothing to loose and I don't think England would of held them off

Just get behind the lads now. We are in the semi finals and until they met us Switzerland were supposedly on fire, they played Italy off the park. So time to unite and be positive.
Spain destorys England
This guy annoys me. Always trying to say ‘I said this would happen’. Well done mate you said Spain would beat Germany and England would beat Switzerland in the shootout calm down it’s hardly oracle work
At this level, international football is more “chess than checkers (draughts)”. Southgate is playing chess, and so far has checkmated all England’s opponents by (1) winning their group, and then overcoming stiff opposition in (2) the Round of 16 and (3) the QFs.
You get nothing for artistic impression. I expect Southgate to “checkmate” the Dutch, and take England to their second, successive final.
I’d take that all day long. Only someone masquerading as an England fan – but in truth a Scotsman – wouldn’t 😊

Nay, England are the best team in the tournament! When they eek past mediocre to terrible opponents. They have done nothing!
Technically we aren’t winning games. If it were a league game then we would be drawing them. Southgate is riding his luck. We were out of this competition with seconds to spare and no one would have argued that it would have been deservedly so.
