[Pearce]Liverpool have rejected a bid of £4 million from Turkish club Trabzonspor for Nat Phillips. Including add-ons, #LFC value the defender at around £8m. Also strong interest from a number of Championship clubs, including Burnley.

  1. Hopefully he’ll get a very well earned move. Never complained about anything and stepped up when we needed him the most.

I mean are Championship clubs even going to pay £8m for a CB on the amount he’s supposedly on

That short spell at Celtic probably won’t help either considering how badly it went, dunno what he was like at Cardiff tbf.

Feel we’ll settle around 6 with a championship club.

Don’t think it’s worth a haggle if there’s any chance it prevents Nat from leaving. Let the man start his career

  4. I don’t think it’s that expensive. Lad has roughly a season’s worth of premier league experience.l, and acquitted himself pretty well by all accounts.

Plus the market is pretty wild these days, 8m is a pretty low bar in my opinion.

Burnley sounds like the logical choice. He worked with Scott Parker before during his loan spell in Bournemouth. Also, he scored his first PL goal which was against Burnley in the 2020/21 season.

  6. Don’t get these comments ‘let the man leave’, wasn’t he the one refusing to leave for years cos of his wages?

  7. we’ll never get that for him should of just took what was on offer he’s not good enough for us and hasn’t been great on his loans same story every window with him

I mean if we do end up selling him for more then great but we’ve been here before where we could have sold him and didn’t and instead are just ruining his career, not that it seems he particularly cares. We should just sell him, whatever off comes in, we really need to let him go

  9. I’d be happy to see him start. I rather take 5-6m and he starts then 7-8m and he’ll sit on a bench. The difference in between those numbers are almost uninportant for us.

Swear every summer we wait for the first bid to come in for Nat before deciding what the price is. Then that price is always double what the bid was.

Then at the last minute we’ll pull out of a deal to let him leave because our 4th choice CB got a slight knock.

  11. Let the boy go … don’t hold him for ransom. 8 seems fair though tbh. He’s a strong CB with a head made from cement. I thinks he’s tailor made for Burnley tbh.

  12. Given his wage is pretty hefty for someone who barely plays. We gave him that contract as a mark of gratitude for the performances during the 20/21 season.

Surprised we rejected £4m tbh, seems good enough for me, let him go play footy and it gives us a nice amount of wages back to allocate elsewhere.

    Don’t understand rejecting 4m.

He’ll probably cost us more than that in wages if he sees out his contract on the reserves.

  14. Seems daft rejecting an offer to get him off the wage bill. Hopefully they come back with a higher bid

I feel like £8M is too much for most of the clubs at his level (Championship, now Turkey) for a player who’s now 27 and will have no resale value to whoever buys him and honestly after he got us CL in 2021 (which was worth big £££) it’s a bit of a shit look for the club to keep setting a price so high that he ends up stuck going out on loan again and again. Do better by your player, Liverpool.

  16. £8m is a bit too much imo. He hasn’t played for us in 2 years and has come off a disastrous loan spell. Celtic couldn’t wait to get rid of him.

He’s not a terrible CB. But he won’t play. Sadly it’s another academy player we’ve done dirty.

We should’ve sold him for £20m to Burnley in summer 21 when his value was at his highest.

Now he’s gonna leave us with 0 confidence. And we’ve lost money on an asset we could’ve made a decent amount of money on. Lose-lose situation for us.

On the plus side his very good performances got us top 4. Will always be grateful for that. Good luck Naldini👏🏽

  17. I really feel sometimes that we treated this guy poorly. He stepped up every time he was called and performed really good at times. Value him always almost the double from what they offer is infuriating. Let this man leave in peace, he is not an ebject to stock him in case you need him. He is a player. Don’t ruin his remining years

Man, we’re just gonna keeping dicking around with Nat? Let that man go and have his day in the sun somewhere.
