“To lose that way is cruel” | Jude Bellingham reacts to England’s Euro final defeat to Spain

Jude how tough is that um yeah really difficult I think um we sacrificed a lot throughout the last weeks you know it’s so tough these days with the the crazy schedules and then coming together for the end of the season uh for one last tournament it’s it’s difficult on the body you know mentally physically you’re exhausted but for our country we’re wanting to give everything and then um yeah to to lose in that way is really cruel you know um again we probably didn’t play our best game but there was definitely some some good moments and um we felt like we got back into the game and then to kind of be suck a punch with the late goal it’s um it’s heartbreaking um we all wanted nothing more than to make history and to make the the people of England proud and we haven’t managed to do it we didn’t didn’t quite deliver um there’s reasons for that and I’m sure as a team and going forward we analyze it um but yeah um I think it’s a young group still um it’s really disappointing because at some point we do have to deliver um but there are experiences and there’s things we can take from this tournament going forward and yeah I suppose if you look at everything negatively nothing will ever change um so there’s there’s important we pick the positives and the negatives together and um find a way to to one day get England over the line it it was a really special goal and you had a key part to play in it and the momentum that that gave you for for the next five 10 minutes England were outstanding did you think you were going to go on and win it from that point having come back again in a fourth consecutive knockout game and come from behind well yeah I still felt we was in the game even you know when they scored to make it two 21 you know the the thing is about this team and we showed it throughout the tournament is we’re never going to quit um we’re not going to go out you know quitting not wanting to to to take risk towards the end of the game and you know I think we had the couple of ERS blocked off the line at the end there and uh yeah it’s uh it’s really tough but you know we got to find a way to pick ourselves back up and go again you had some incredibly special moments in the tournament yourself I mean that that overhead kick in the 96 minute will live long in your memory and every England fan to win penalties with five perfect penalties that late winner from ole Watkins there were some really special moments in this tournament which England fans loved I think it was does that give you some sort of Solace not really I came here to win we came here to win um like I said there’s experiences that we can take going into the next one so I suppose you could I suppose you could say that’s kind of some Solace but um yeah it’s uh it’s really difficult to see those moments as important as they were um had we won the trophy so yeah really tough it’s it’s one of those where you probably need a bit more time to digest it and analyze it and you know um we’ll do that as a team individually look over how it went and and bounce back because um you know like I said it’s a young team with a lot of potential and I know people be frustrated that we haven’t delivered yet but um I definitely feel it’s coming [Music]

  1. Wish we would of gave palmer more minutes in this tournament, what a player he deserved more than 20 mins a game, instead southgate preferred foden who went full on jay slater in this tournament! What a joke its never coming home

  2. Not bothered what European countries think apart from Portugal the rest are all irrelevant to me. They hate the English and we don't even give you a second thought.

  3. To lose what way? To a better team that beat France Croatia and Germany the hosts to reach the final as opposed to slovakia and Switzerland ?

    Relax Jude

  4. it was so cruel Spain have to beat Croatia Italy in groupstage….then beat the host Germany in QF ..and France in SF… England so lucky got easiest path to the final

  5. Without injustice arbitrage the final would have been German-Dutch

But Bravo Spain. This victory woud hurt a lot the vile fool Kane and his corrupt friend Zwayer.

Kane wronged the Netherlands, but God took revange on you.

  6. Jude is a mentality monster. Dont blame the others for looking down, but was the only one going round picking players up off the floor. Future captain.

  7. The team did not deserve to win Jude, your manager is fully responsible for this failure and we need immediate change…

  8. Overated player this Bellingham ok you are a good player but you are not Zidane you don’t have the technical skills and quality for that you are a good box to box 8 player not a playmaker don’t do what you don’t know to do

  9. In every tournament they come, they're the favourites, and each time the pressure is higher because they haven't won the previous time. I honestly think that they'll end up winning at least a trophy because the generation is really good and throughout history good generations almost always come up with some important accomplishment, but it's not always the case and all this pressure might not help them. And btw Jude, Spain losing after dominating every match in the tournament and playing amazing football against a team that scraped their way through with a lucky draw and some embarrassing games, that would've been more cruel trust me

  10. England found a way until they didnt. When you're scaping your way through every game you have a problem. You can't keep on fooling yourself.
