Kante’s not really a CDM, though his CV says he is, and Mctominay certainly isn’t either, so it strikes me as a very poor idea to let Alvarez go. Unless of course Alvarez is kicking up a fuss behind the scenes, which wouldn’t entirely surprised me, given that he openly said he’d be open to move after two weeks of being employed by the club.

Toney is still overpriced at £50m especially with his ‘baggage’, even though his record in front of goal is impressive, but that may not get better as he gets older.
Selling Alvarez would be madness with no equivalent replacement in the offing.
