Definitely shots fired by Walker Zimmerman but directly at whom? #usmnt #futbolamericas #ussoccer

  1. The best players should play, and it’s not zimmerman lol. What if an American player scored 50 goals in the Cambodian league, should he be called up? Lol no .

  2. Zimmerman’s untechnical ass got called in the squad because of the MLS quota. His dumbass was the reason we drew Wales in the world. He shouldn’t be talking.

  3. He has a point in that it seems like some of the more talented current American players lack the grit/unity/discipline of earlier decades of USMNT players and as a result they are not performing at the level to which they are capable of playing. Walker isn't the most talented player, but that doesn't make his argument invalid.

  4. “Zimmerman shouldn’t even be talking” i think he has every right to talk. he’s not necessarily saying anything bad about anyone. he’s calling the player(s) talented but he just wishes these guys cared a bit more. it’s a grievance many of us may have. the difference between us and Zimmerman is that he has an actual platform and more knowledge of the sport, has played meaningful matches, unlike many of us sitting on the couch

  5. 5:02 What do you mean they have never been in a fight… they haven’t been punching the mouth. They got junk punched and kicked on the ground by holland in 2022 and got back handed and spit on by Panama after going a man down. They don’t have grit because you can’t go down deep to dig up what isn’t there… talent and ability. They don’t have it. They are mostly being left out of teams in Europe unlike Pulisic and Robinson. To Zimmerman’s point, the MLS guys are at least playing and getting game fit. Turner, Reyna, Musah, Weah, Ream, Scully, Aaronson, and soo many more are about as regular on their sides as a 90 year old man without his Prune Juice. You won’t win at any level with players who don’t play.

  6. I'm glad Gregg is gone because maybe finally the fans will start holding the players accountable, when Gregg isn't there to take all the blame.

  7. I honestly don't agree with this sentiment that players like McKennie or Pulisic haven't had to fight for their respect for club and country – they are still fighting off that stench of decades of mediocrity in the US no matter how well they perform.

And many of them had to fight for their spot on a roster, look at what happened with Leeds or Puli at Chelsea – do you really turn your back on some of those guys because they had a bad season at their club? I think what we lack is a true leader on this squad and some of the grit from the past, also the coach getting the most out of the players by creating cohesion. Lastly, I will say that there needs to be more competition on the USMNT for a starting spot and no one's spot should be safe, but that's on the coaches and furthermore let's not act like guys like Zimmerman and Miles Robinson haven't had their chance. If anything I don't think they did their job here and got called up just because of being MLS figures and have been around the national team. Guys like that can shout that the players in Europe are resting on their laurels but truth be told the MLS guys like Zimmerman haven't shown any reason why they should be taking that spot. I'm not buying it that some of these players like Dest or Gio haven't had a difficult journey getting where they are or didn't work hard just because collectively US players finally broke through the specific glass ceiling in terms of more players in Europe.
