And what a song. I was thinking about this earlier, and the combination of the calibre of player he was, with the quality of that tune, it was something special.

I always look at this era with some happiness because it was my first time properly supporting the club.
But then the anger and bitterness kicks in about a lot of how we operated then. We were 2-3 players away from properly competing, yet instead the likes of Torres, Alonso and Gerrard were playing alongside (no disrespect) players of the calibre of Ngog and Voronin.
I’ll always love the goals and the classic games but always bemoan that it all essentially came to nought because of the pair of cunts owning us.
