[Dharmesh Sheth] Manchester United understood to be happy to keep Scott McTominay. They will only consider offers IF McTominay makes it clear he wants to go. And only then IF they are happy with the offer. Fulham remain in talks with United over the signing of the midfielder.

  1. Don’t mind keeping him but we need a replacement/backup for Casemiro so someone will need to go

  2. We are a classy club, lets never change that. We don’t push players out!! Look at whats happening at Chelsea, just a morally rotten club, I’d never want to be associated with a club like that. We are honest with players and let them make decisions based on that. We dont stockpile talent at any level and provide genuine pathways to our youth players. I fucking love this club!!

    A fairly standard negotiating stance.

Also no team would be making 2/3 bids unless they received some encouragement from the player side.

Looking at how Chelsea treats their academy graduates like fodder for pigs makes me all the more happy that we actually give a shit about our players’ wishes and treat them with respect.

McTominay is a great representation of the club.
    Happy to have him.

Would be sad to see him go but would be good for him to get consistent playing time

People say it’s a negotiation stance but I genuinely believe ten hag would be happy to keep him. I think he’d rather eriksen left first but obviously that’s a more difficult deal to make.

  7. what’s the fee they would want again? 40m? i feel like he’s way better than smith-rowe and they bought him for like 35

I would honestly keep McTominay, as long as he’s happy to stay. People can criticise him for being unable to to control a game which is fair but there are very few players that I’d rather bring on in the 60/70th minute if you need a goal. If we really need money to bring another holding midfielder in there are 5+ other players I’d sell ahead of McTominay

  9. Hope he stays. Id rather Eriksen, Lindelof, Hannibal and Sancho gone before Scott. He’s a product of our academy with over 250 first team appearances! Ok he’s not world class but he’s a damn good squad player and will pop up with a few crucial goals throughout the season.

There’s a space for him in our squad. He CAN be a great player at times. He’s scored some big goals for us, and can do a job. He’s on ridiculously low wages in comparison to most of the team and whoever we would bring in to replace him. I’d rather Mount, Eriksen, or Hannibal went before him.

  11. The difference between this and whatever the fuck Chelsea is trying to do with their youth graduates is making me happy

  12. I get people want to keep Scott but we need another 6 with Case likely staying. So where is the money coming from without him being sold??

It’s unfortunate but the reality atm, he has clubs interested in him.

  13. Very difficult decision for McTominay to make.

He obviously loves the club and gives his all every time he is on the pitch. He’s one of our hardest working players and a fan favorite *(outside reddit)*. He has to make a decision whether to play for the club he loves but only have a small role or to try something new and challenge himself to be a starter at a different club and play every week.

  14. I’d love to see him develop in a team where he’s starting every game. Sadly he’s not good enough to be more than a late game sub for us.

  15. Remember when we were told to cough up or fuck off when we were after Branthwaite? That.
