[Twitter/David Ornstein] Arsenal reject £25m for Eddie Nketiah, Forest see him as #1 striker target

  1. Not massively keen on this one, tbh.

Sure there’s some upsides (25, English, PL experience etc).

But his record isn’t good, and Arsenal fans in the replies are begging the club to take the money. Feels like an overpay.

  2. I think there’s a chance that with a run of games he could really blossom, but I don’t think he has high resale value. I think it’s one of those transfers that has a chance to go very right or very wrong.

Let’s be honest, this would represent poor value for money and a distinct lack of imagination on our part. We’re talking about a guy who struggles to score in a much better team than ours – Arsenal valuing him at £30m+ is madness.

Would assume that we’re not going to spend 60 million on nketiah and Giménez, so will probably only get the one with whom we reach an agreement with earlier. I’d definitely prefer Giménez, Nketiah has his benefits but his record(especially in such a good team) isn’t great.

He can finish and get behind defenders, if this was 1997 I think he’d be a 20 goal a season player.

I worry there’s not enough to his game to play up front this day and age though. He’d be a cracking option to bring on if we’re going two strikers to chase a game, but that’s a lot to spend on that role.
