Huge respect to Kovacic for not celebrating against us. Such a shame that he had to leave after our horrendous season. Miss seeing this guy running rampant in our midfield.

  1. Class act but he had pretty much given up and stopped trying his last season with us to the point, all though it obviously wasn’t, it looked like actual intentional sabotage.

That season really turned me sour on him, sadly.

Seemed like he stopped trying to stay healthy for the World Cup. Which was kind-of OK. But then he got back and just didn’t seem to try the rest of the season.

I’m a big fan of Kovacic and wanted him to stay. But after that I was fine with him going.

  3. I just couldn’t believe he scored against us of all teams. Do you know how many times I screamed at my TV for him to shoot when he played for us?

Never understood the logic of not celebrating against your old team. Pretty sure this is the only sport it happens

  5. Maybe I’m out of the loop with this one, but what is this obsession people seem to have about former players not celebrating goals against their old clubs? The only scenario it makes sense is an actual club legend scoring against that club. Lampard scored against Chelsea, makes sense to not celebrate. Or if Henry scored against Arsenal, or Larsson scored against Celtic. But now it seems if you celebrate a goal against a team you played for for 2-3 years, people take it as an insult. Havertz scoring against Chelsea last year is a prime example, the amount of pissy reactions to it was embarrassing. Man scored a goal, let him celebrate if he wants and stop being children about it. They don’t owe the club anything

A certain chelsea fan club chanted “chelsea reject” before the goal at the bar I was at. Safe to say I’ll be sitting at the opposite end for games going forward. Massive disrespect to a great player. Wish he stayed.

The best central midfield to ever wear a Chelsea shirt. While we are employing a shin kicker from Ecuador who panic and shit himself when on the ball with opponents being 12 yards around him

  8. His best years were with us. It’s common decency to be respectful in this situation. It’s not like Salah or De Bruyne celebrating, they spent no time here anyways.

  9. To this day, my gf and I randomly yell Mateooooo kovacic when doing stuff like laundry and cooking. I don’t know how it started or why we do it, but it still happens. I’m not even sure if she knows that he isn’t on Chelsea anymore.
