As a fan for the past 20 years, having seen strikers of different calibrate, I highly rate Eddie.

He joined our academy at a very young age, and performed well. Had a wonderful debut for the first team scoring 2 goals. Remained a backup striker for about 6 years and never had a problem with his attitude. Always an example in training and gave 100% on every minute he played.

To me he has already proved he is exceptional and deserves every praise he can get, but I also believe that he has the potential to reach a far higher level and he is going to reach it someday.

Deep down I have always hoped he would reach it with us, but as the situation seems unlikely at this point, I will always support Eddie regardless of his decision.

My favourite moment from Eddie will always be the winner against man utd

  1. Arsenal doesn’t seem quite the right level for him at the moment, so wish him the best elsewhere.

He’s had some highlight moments for sure but there’s no shame in admitting that Arsenal isn’t at his level anymore – best of luck to him at Forest

  3. That brace at the Bridge, the winner vs. Man U, that hatty against Sheffield Utd.

    Thanks for the memories, Eddie.

  4. He’s one of us. Grew up here. We all saw his mentality during the all or nothing doc. Don’t be a twat….show some fucking appreciation on his way out.

  5. For years I’ve wanted Eddie, Emile and Reiss to be our three off the bench match winners, the unsung heroes that end up winning us the title. I think they have the talent. Arteta doesn’t agree. I can live with that. Truly hope all thee go on to light up whatever team is their next destination.

I’ll never forget Eddie against United, Reiss with that insane last minute goal and Emile against Chelsea saving Arteta’s job.

    Legends.

  6. He’s been my favorite active squad member for several years. Some bad luck that he got his first real starts and minutes when even Auba wasn’t being fed enough to score but we got to see his potential against Chelsea and a few other great performances. At the end of the day I accept that it’s best for both parties that he moves on. Can’t wait to see him start more games in a different system.

-Proud owner of a Nketiah jersey. See flair.

Honestly going to miss him. I’m well aware he’s not at the level we want but the way some people talk about his abilities just baffles me. All the best to him, fingers crossed he scores against everyone except u

A great lad by all accounts, good mentality and gave us some good moments. Very ready to move on from but wish him the best.

Think he would have been better 10-15 years ago when strikers could get away with just being poachers.

  9. Been a fan since watching the U-19/23 highlights and him scoring basically every week. Always rated his mentality and how hard he’s worked to improve. Unfortunately he’s not at the level for Arsenal but I hope he has a great career and can prove himself worthy of being the starting No.9 for a good club

  10. I wish he became the guy. He clearly didn’t, but there isn’t a soul here who can deny his work ethic and development. He is _such_ a well rounded player now compared to him 3 years ago even.

I wish nothing but the best to him. A mentality monster if ever there was one

it’s a shame he stopped working after that moment.

Jokes aside, it’s a real shame that he turned out have finishing as his weakest ability. For a striker, that’s like a death sentence, especially at a top club.

He had everything else needed to be a top striker.

  12. I don’t highly rated Eddie, but I think it’s good for both the parties from rbhim to leave, wish him all the best
