      I don’t think there’s any realistic scenario where a Sterling transfer happens. We’re far more likely to go into this window without a forward signing than sign sterling if it comes down to it.

      Hopefully Mikel is holding the club to ransom by saying he’ll only sign the extension if the club sign him a forward this window.

      > Last weekend, Arsenal wanted a red card after Yerson Mosquera appeared to grab Kai Havertz by the throat, but with that call (no VAR intervention was unanimously supported by the KMI panel) there was a valid explanation that it was accidental as the Wolverhampton Wanderers player looked to brace his fall.

      Apparently none in the panel felt Mosquera should have been sent off.

      I honestly don’t know how we’ll ever fix refereeing in this country.

      First step should be not to just blatantly lie, when everyone with eyes can see it was violent conduct.

      Brighton have assembled a super talented team this summer, from the coach right down to the players. They’ve always recruited well and are a well run club. Seems pretty clear that their goal is to make a return to European spots next season. I wonder who they might topple from the traditional big six to reach there. Would be ironically funny if Chelsea ends up being the one – I’m not sold on their project yet and think the Wolves game flattered them.

      So only hope of a forward signing is similar to the tomiyasu deadline day situation? as im not seeing any other reliable links to any forwards.

      This is some spooky forward depth to take into the season. The schedule is even more packed than last season..

      Surely we need to sign a forward. ESR, Vieira, Eddie out soon and Nelson wasn’t exactly favoured last year. Jesus still has injury issues, leaving us with only 4 fit and available forwards.

      I get that Nwaneri will have more of a role to play than last season, but he’s still too young to take significant minutes.

      Assuming Nico Willaims is off, then who is a realistic target? Maybe we look for a deadline day bargain?

      If it came down to either Sterling on loan or Coman on loan, i’d rather Sterling tbh.

      If Coman wants to leave Bayern because of playing time, how will he deal with holding bench for Saka all season?
