Was class when he played for us. What a shame, bit of a legend. Will never forget that penalty against man united

  4. Man that is so sad. What a character and player he was for us.

One of the all time fan favourites at Cardiff, and an important part of our promotion season to the PL.

    RIP Sol 💙

  5. Gutted.

Top top top fella, was a real presence around the club and at the back.

Fuck, so gutting. Will always be loved in Leicester, and all the other clubs he represented too.

Don’t think there was a single club he played for where he was ever disliked.

  11. Heartbreaking to read. 39 is no age to die at. May an all time EFL legend find peace, and thoughts are with his family and friends.

Good god this is awful news. I know how highly regarded he was at Cardiff and how much this will hurt everyone at the club.

    RIP Sol. Cardiff city legend.

  13. The man was a legend. Loved here at Cardiff and by all accounts loved at boro and Leeds too. Will always remember the story about how he accidentally broke a guys glasses while celebrating with the fans and then him meeting up with the fan the following day to buy him new ones. Class act on and off the pitch. My condolences go out to his friends and family. Rest in peace, Sol, you legend.

An absolute titan. Terrible loss. Glad he got his season in the Prem to show his quality. It’s clear how well he was thought of as a man, not just as a footballer.

  15. Horrible news. He was always someone with a smile on his face and you couldn’t help but like him even if he didn’t play for you. RIP Sol

Life is so short man. Just a couple days ago 2 hockey players lost their lives in the US due to a drunk driver
