Schweinsteiger. He is touted in the same tier as Lahm or Müller, but half his time with us he was a for our level average winger, and after his prime of 2009-2014 he fell off pretty hard. Not to say that I don’t adore him, and his prime was great, but he isn’t one of the potentially all time greats he sometimes gets claimed as imo.

DeLigt.
Hear me out (i wish we kept him aswell)……😅
Overrated in the sense that the way everybody is reacting to him being sold, you would think he was a world class defender for us.
In reality, while he was our best defender, the others were downright terrible at times, so being good will automatically stand out. But DeLigt didn’t solve our defensive problems either and he had multiple coaches prefer others. He also never really grew into the leader he should naturally be. He just simply wasn’t nearly as prone to mistakes as the others are.
So, imo he is overrated since the reaction to him being gone doesn’t really mirror his overall performances here. It shows that he was our best defender but imo honest he wasn’t world class or a difference maker, he was very, very good but also often injured.
Controversial take, I’m aware, lmao.

Effenberg. Was looked as the leader of the team and an alpha, but he was just a loud, average midfielder with an anger problem who didnt really excel at anything.

Over the years I’ve often seen the claim of **Javi Martinez** being a Bayern Legend, and I decidedly disagree. He had one amazing season, followed by 8 that can be called unremarkable at best for a Bayern player.
(Also, I disagree with the methodology for over- and underrated players. Surely if it’s about them being rated wrongly, then we shouldn’t go by upvotes.)

Michael Ballack, in my opinion his header and his shooting technic are awesome but for me he is overrated.

Miroslav Klose. A genuine legend for the National team, but his time with us borders on the failure end of the spectrum as he ended up scoring 12 times in his final 65 appearances, and 4 times in his final 45 Bundesliga appearances.
And he actually went on to be fairly prolific for Lazio after us, so, it’s really just our spell which went as poorly.

Kingsley coman imo

I think it’s needed to define from football fans in general or from Bayern fans. For others I’d say Davies but among Bayern fans would be much more contentious and personal for individual fans. Hesitantly my first thought is Coman but I’m definitely missing a few names ahead if him in this regard. Another thought from the current squad is Pavlo (one of the most Underrated from the outside), because even though he is talented and has great potential, those wanting him to start every game now is a bit silly.

Coman is clearly the most overrated Bayern player ever, for such a limited player to be for a decade in a Bayern jersey is insane, gets paid like a world superstar the likes Salah but he never had a great season, some people delusionally think he was the best player in 2022 just because of a purple patch, he is the most mediocre player we’ve had and can’t believe after so many years he’s still here.

Juan Bernat. Weil er alleine dafür verantwortlich ist, dass Bayern fast ausgeschieden ist. Der hat einen scheißdreck gespielt.

Klose gets criticised far too little for his time here. He had one or two seasons where he scored more goals in whatever tournament Germany were in, than he did in the Bundesliga for us.
Honestly think Alaba fits this a little. His performances at left back was helped by having Ribery helping him defensively and offensively – I doubt he could have had the same impact if he played with a winger like Robben. His performances at cb was also helped that we steamrolled the opponents offensively, so any fuckups defensively were forgiveable. Not that he wasn’t great, but Rummenigge called him something like the black Beckenbauer.

Sane is a total disaster IMO… I have no idea how he gets any play time as a starter
