As a Sydney FC fan, not good, might go to a game to watch him tho, probably the biggest A-League player since Del Piero, and should be good for Australian soccer in general.

My morning dyslexia kills me… I read that as ‘Wesley Sneijder Wanderers’ and kept thinking why would he name a club after himself

Deemed surplus because of Willian and Oscar back then. Was one of my favourite players to watch at that time. I couldn’t understand why Jose would let go of our most productive player, but we won the league the next season, and Mata never reached those heights again at United.
At least we currently have his spiritual successor in Palmer, as a left-footed playmaker that stuffs the stats sheet.
