I really hope they dont mess this one up too, we’ve let go of so many talented players in the past years (toni and alaba as examples)

  1. No we didn’t. Bayern is one of the club that keeps their player the longest on average. Kroos is one exception but that’s it. Alaba stayed for more than 10 years (!!)

Alaba didn’t leave as a talented youngster tho. He’d achieved everything in the game and left after his peak as a LV

  3. I never get the sentiment of “messing up” when it comes to contract extensions. The players have free wills, you know? There are offers. If the player wants to play somewhere else then you can’t force him. As if its always the teams to “loose” a player. They wanted something else obviously.

This is probably the toughest extension ever in terms of Bayern keeping a young promising player in recent times.

All the big clubs want Musiala, Man City being the most dangerous one because they have infinite money, they Pep, they’re treble challengers every single year and with De Bruyne getting closer to retirement, a player like Musiala would fit right in. Madrid could try to follow their traditional strategy and attempt to get him for free in 2026.

All Bayern can do is offer Musiala as much as they can, not only money but other perks. Even then, as a young player with every elite club at his feet he can pretty much decide not only based on money, but on lifestyle, moving to a country he likes, and so on.

The one thing they HAVE to do is have sign him an extension with a heavy buyout clause to prevent him leaving on a free transfer, that would be a major L for Bayern, and it wouldn’t be the first time it happened.

Alaba just wasnt worth the money he asked for. Yes a good player. But if we had given him the money he wanted then we would discuss his salary now, same as we do with Goretzka, Gnabry, Kimmich, Coman, etc… and is he the big superstar in Madrid? do they let him play in the midfield as he always wanted? no.. they pay him 22.5mil €, thats just crazy. way more than double what we paid him before.
