Well deserved. Comfortably the best full-back in the league and our best player so far this season. Replacing Juranovic was a big worry, but AJ has been an upgrade.
As much as I’d love him to stay and believe he’s future captain material, he’s probably the next £20m+ move if he turns in some good performances in the Champions League. The contract is probably for an extra level of security more than anything.

One thing that has been consistent across both Rodgers spells so far has been his drive to reward the best players in the squad with new deals. Something that hasn’t really happened outside his time here, and very good news for the club, if not the heated driveway fund.
