Mols could have gone on to be even better than he was if it wasn’t for the injury

Ian Durrant definitely before the injury.
An early wasted potential candidate is Charlie Miller.

Mols before the injury or possibly Negri. What might have been!

Jean Alain Boumsong , what a player

Boli. Granted he was played at cb instead of his preferred lb position but fucking hell he was pish. Was only with us because Marseille were forced to sell him after the CL match fixing scandal.

Fleck. I thought we had a Rooney on our hands when he came into the squad at 16

Mols for me. Possibly Negri but we’ll never know!

Young Kenny Miller when he first joined. His pace frightened defenders. We shipped him off, broke his confidence and the rest is history, but could have been some player.

John Fleck had all the hype and a couple of impressive performances at first. Then we stuck him on the left wing (which I think is what Walter did with anyone he wasn’t sure how to fit in) then he disappeared only to end up as a deep lying midfielder at Sheffield United.
The pre-injury Mols suggestion is a great one as well. While Laudrup was a better player, watching him I could at least see what he was doing even if there was no chance I could replicate it. Mols however I was just going “how did he turn that guy inside out?” It didn’t look possible and he made it so easy

It’s pretty sad reading through this list of names. Could actually put together some team if they’d all stayed fit and focussed.

Has to be mols. That injury fucked him.

In my lifetime, van Bronckhorst or Gattuso. Their post-Rangers careers speak for themselves.

Nikica Jelavić – was brilliant for us and did okay for Everton but expected him to do more. Same for Daniel Cousin.
