  1. My, oh, my. This is the club that I support in my own country.

Who would have thought that I would see Tony in our shirt!

Needless to say that this is a huge transfer, not only for the club but for the league too.

Everyone talks about it since yesterday,

As an AEK Athens fan and as a Martial appreciator too I wish he somehow stays away from many injuries here.

With his talents he’ll tear it up here and our fans, as passionate as all the balkan fans are, will revere him as a god.

The damning thing for United is how many of these players stayed around for years on some of the highest wages in the Premier League but then struggled to find a club. De Gea, Mata, Lingard, Martial.

Injuries were the problem for Martial, but the club knew he was injury prone when he signed his last contract. Same for Jones.

Hard to imagine INEOS doing that to be fair.

  3. Good luck Tony Martial. I hope he stays injury free and is able to enjoy himself playing football again.

I was convinced he’d be a free agent all season, who is AEK highest earner? He’s 28 which in football is ultimate peak years, yet he seems older and essentially done.

Be interesting to see how this move goes.

  5. he’s gonna bang 50 goals in this season, get a move to Barca and finally win the Ballon d’Or. Woodward was a true visionary.

  6. I haven’t been through all comments so may have been mentioned already and it’s not about wages but rather how good some of these players are who have just left club.

Martial not exactly moving to a top league and yet was playing for Man Utd. So when we talk about how far we are from city it might just be a case where we just need better players or rather upgrades.

I think a half decent manager would win the league with city squad.

In Mctominey defence he went to a top Italian side but still had offers from Fulham and West Ham.

This martial move is stunning I honestly thought he would end up at Marseille.

Regardless of your opinion on him he’s never bad mouthed the club and, whilst he’s been unfortunate with injuries, he was still here for 9 years.

Wish him the best, guy seemed to always have tough skin against a lot of the discussion about his work ethic or injuries.

Despite his fitness problems, it wasn’t as if he was coming back from preseason fat as fuck or dossing about. Guy was just incredibly unlucky.

I’m glad we’ve moved past him but still hope he can shine for a few years, if in another league, he’s only 28.

  8. As a United and AEK fan since the day I was born, that’s the first time ever there is a connection between my favorite clubs. Of course, I know Martial like everyone here but I am still excited.

Who cares? I wish people would stop posting about ex-players, especially ones who did nothing of significance while with us. I don’t care about De Gea, or Mata, or Martial etc. They got paid very well, they did fuck all, let’s forget about them and stop clogging up the forum. If we are going to bring up ex-players all the time, I’d like to know what Gary Pallister is up to. Or Lee Sharpe. Players that actually did something while here, and deserve fans respect.

His body just cannot handle professional football and he’s too much of a gamble for any club.
