It’s probably going to get lost, but he had great day today even when he was switched to the lone pivot.

Casado should have been the player to control or carry the ball out by being closest midfielder to Ter Stegen, not that brainfart expert Garcia. If Flick really wanted Garcia there for his double pivot, then Garcia only duty should have been as a destroyer, but never the one to move the ball along.

Now we got Garcia doing some unorthodox shit after he was acting like he was doing some normal routine providing himself as an outlet to indirectly chain the ball toward the next free man(Cubarsi)

Instead that genius ducked aside just as the pass was made toward him gifting the ball away with a direct line toward goal. Who the fk feints away outside their own box? It’s not like he was Pedri or Lewandowski trying to get rid of their marker on the other side of the field. You just don’t do that unpredictable shit right outside your own box for that exact reason that happened today. Casado should have had the responsibility that Frenkie had if they were going for double pivot.

  2. We should’ve started with double pivot Pedri-Casado which had been regularly being played the past few games, opting for Ferran or Pablo Torre up front, since coming out with the ball is essential for our gameplay, something Pedri excels ata. Eric hasn’t regularly started, easy to say in retrospect, but it blew up in our face. I thought The formation was fine, but Eric’s weaknesses were hella noticed. Can’t hesitate when coming to ask for the ball as lone pivot for Barca, though I understand why it happened. He felt Monaco forward pressing and didn’t want to fuck it up so played it safe hoping Ter Stegen would clear. Also on Ter Stegen to not sense Eric wasn’t ready for that high press situation.

Casado is hanging on by a thread like most of our players, he’s everywhere on the field, just like Pedri. As J.R.R. Tolkien would say “stretched, like *butter scraped* over too much bread”

Also honorable mention to Cubarsi who is also being spread thin af like Casado, I thought he had a great game, especially cutting off attacks that ended up being offsides. Masia kids are the light at the end of this dark tunnel I hope we don’t make longer with more pointless signings. The answer’s always been Masia and a few skilled vets to lead the way.
