      I wonder if Nkunku will start up top over Jackson now the way this is worded. Or I’m completely reading into it

      Worth mentioning that Maresca also stressed that those players aren’t set in those positions as they can also play in other positions. He forgot to mention Guiu initially as 1 of the STs but later remembered him!

      EDIT: Also, he said this of Nkunku on the Nkunku vs Jackson debate for the #9 position:

      >We use Chrisoph in the nine in the last game. He is completely different to Nicolas. Nico is a number nine and Christo isn’t a real number nine. I am so happy with the squad we have, not just Christo and Nicolas.

      Think the order in which he said the players here is a giveaway on who is favourites are, and therefore who is likely to start.

      It’s interesting he sees it this way. I honestly didn’t think he’d be pragmatic enough to use a 4231. Now he needs to be more pragmatic about our playstyle. I understand Poch wanted to play gegenpress and that didn’t suit our players, but the 75% possession and being one goalkeeping MotM away from a loss isn’t going to suit the home crowd.
