I believe in the project, but right now I’m concerned with the form. We’ve played 5 games this season, drew to a newly promoted team, battered a team that is surely a favourite to go down, lost to a top 4 rival and lost narrowly to a title challenger with some of their best players unavailable, as well as our subs mixed with some starters getting away with murder against a mid table championship team.
Things need to improve. I’ll be patient, I’ll give it time, but I expect to start seeing glimpses of what this system is trying to achieve and I haven’t really seen much of it this season. Plenty last season, but it’s becoming clearer that teams have figured out that one simple trick on how to beat us. If we’re going to persist, we need to very quickly learn how to break apart those low blocks and start punishing teams who try it against us.
