19 Years ago today, Jonathan Woodgate made his long-awaited Real Madrid debut, against Athletic Bilbao in La Liga. It went in the worst way possible with him scoring an own-goal in the 25th minute and then getting sent off with a 2nd Yellow on the 66th minute of the match.

Arguably the worst debut ever. Only thing worse would’ve been for the match to end in a loss due to his own-goal but he was fortunate that the final score was a 3-1 win for Real Madrid.
Oh and it was HOME at the Bernabeu no less!
