Not sure what to think about this. He will be great at tournament football, until we get to the final and tactics go out the window…. 😂

On the other side, he will do wonders for our mentality and youth system. Just not convinced he will perform well in a 38 game season.

Thoughts?

He fluffed it with one of the best squads in the world.

I dread to think what he would do with one of the worst squads in the league.

  2. No offence to OP but it’s going to be this rumour mill crap for the foreseeable future. We should be linked to Graham Potter by lunch.

Definite downgrade on Dyche. We may have won the game, but I lost all support for Southgate after that Slovakia game at the euros. Stubborn and clueless with subs.

There’s going to be so much speculative journalism about us until Mosh hands over the keys

  5. One thing I’ve learnt about Friedkin is he’s a tight-lipped bussinessman.
Don’t waste your time with these kind of rumors, lads.

  6. We’ll get linked with a string of managers in the next few weeks because it will be assumed Dyche is going. Moyes and Morinio will follow.

  7. Who upvotes this bollocks?

I’m sure the very first Friedkin did yesterday morning was call GiveMeSport and tell them “I’m getting Southgate”

  8. This is bollocks, but I would absolutely take him. Did well
with England compared to how his predecessors got on (which I think is no small feat), is accustomed to working with actual good players and would be a step up from the present incumbent. Not saying he’d be the ultimate destination, for he has flaws and is recently unaccustomed to club management… but it’s one step at a time.

  9. Reports that Friedkin would look at Southgate as a ‘potential’ manager ‘if he sacks Dyche’, are along the same lines as reporting Friedkin could ‘potentially’ sign Mbappe as replacement for dcl ‘if the price is right’. Neither could be said to be untrue. Let’s hope it’s this type of bollocks reporting…

  10. Respectfully, I don’t think they even bothered looking at the board when they lobbed this particular dart.

  11. Makes sense to bring in someone who has worked with Jude Bellingham previously. Because we’re probably going to sign him in January, now that we are back of course.

  12. “And the media has gone berserk” haha I’ll take it all with a pinch of salt for now..Southgate tho idk 🤷‍♂️ didn’t do too bad with England but can he manage a Premier league club that remains to be seen.

  13. I’m a Southgate apologist, but managing a team that overpowers 95% of the teams you face vs a team you’ll actually have to come up with a proper game plan for is very different.

  14. Not sure how I feel about this. Part of me wonders how Dyche would be as a manager if he actually had decent money to spend.
Also not sure if Southgate would be any good as a club manager.
