That… feels like a no unfortunately.
Doesn’t exactly sound convincing that he’s interesting in staying beyond this season. It could be him playing to get a larger wage with a new contract but it looks like he’s open to leaving the club at the end of the season.

Damn, there’s a very real chance this will be his last season here. Considering our Chelsea-lite transfer strategy of buying a bunch of young talent for potential, I wouldn’t be surprised if the club decides not to give him a new contract. I can’t imagine the reactions if this season ends up being underwhelming results-wise and we lose a club legend at the end of it.
Kaneâs move hurt but seeing Son leave the club would genuinely be painful. Imagine Madders might take over captaincy with Vicario the 2nd vice captain?

Dunno why everyoneâs saying it sounds like heâs gone. You genuinely do never know in football – it could be that the club move him on without him having much say. But itâs very clear he cares about the club.

Most players don’t retire at a top 6 club nowadays this isn’t particularly shocking. They don’t want a bench position but aren’t good enough to start so they move on and play out the remaining of their career somewhere else.
I don’t think that’ll be at the end of this year for Sonny, but when he’s 35 or 36 in a few years? Yeah, he’ll likely leave and enjoy some MLS or S. Korea league football. It’s the natural cycle of things
I hope he leaves us when heâs ready and goes and plays in South Korea where he can be worshipped allover again.
