I had my eyes on him for most of the match he was scanning his surroundings, pointing to where the ball should go and dropping feints to throw Alaves’ deem midfield off so he can create an opening to thread a pass to the final third every time we were going forward with the ball. He was annoyed a few times when we slowed the tempo because he could see a chance in his head that Mendy and some times Tchouameni were too conservative to take the risky pass while he was crowded. But at the same time Tchouameni was always making sure if there is a chance a pass gets intercepted deep Alaves would be pushed all the way into their area to have time to throw a pass behind our backline to break into a counter.
Aside from the end this was our best match in every aspect but especially during attacking.
One last thing: Jude is impressively big, strong and nimble for his size, he can’t be bullied off the ball without getting fouled 95% of the time, bless him.
