What a weird season this was. The side had so much potential but Souness didn’t really know what to do with it and ended up trashing relationships with people. He was a 70s era manager in the wrong era. At one point I think he just gave up.
I wanted Kluivert to succeed so much but he’d also basically given up. If he was playing now he’d have gone to Saudi. Loved it when it worked though, he scored some important and beautiful goals for us
