  1. Don’t get me wrong he’s one hell of a player, but him being out won’t make much of a difference to how good of a team they are just means either walker or stones comes in as a 6 again

  2. Its an interesting situation theyre in now. Phillips was brought in as Rodri cover but wasnt up to snuff, they arguably dont have a like for like for that position so would likely look for cover in January, however the court stuff could put off any decent talent in case they risk being at the club when they get punished.

  3. Honestly gutted for him. We have been through this journey with Joe and VVD and all we could wish at that time why they? And why now?

  4. Like him as a person, but thats great news for us.
Still obviously wish him the best, and that he recovers well

  5. Sad for him, but it’s good for our chances and the wider PL title race. He’s unlikely to be at his best the year after, so the implications may be broader than this season alone.

  6. ACL injuries are nasty. Even if he recovers well he’ll take a long time to get back to his usual level.

  7. Can we all stop with the cope that he’d just be Rodri’s backup? Rodri is a complete midfielder and could easily play in a midfield alongside Zubimendi. Them two and Foden as a midfield 3 would be incredible.

If reports of Zubimendi being not happy with Sociedad with the new contract stuff is true we should be all over trying to get him in January but let’s not pretend city wouldn’t be a great move for him too. Hopefully our prior interest will swing it in our favour if we do go back in.
