I know this is the continuing narrative, and it’s a bit boring now, but we do need a string of League wins to make it go away.

It’s almost comforting when a twat like Carragher slags us. Ange must be doing it right, because they keep taking shots at him.

Carragher is an idiot but also these stats really don’t mean all that much

I largely disagree with Carragher, but these stats also don’t tell the whole story.
While profspur is right that there are a lot of positive indicators, let’s use the 0 counter attack goals conceded as an example of an area that’s misleading. The winner Newcastle score is not necessarily a counter attack, but it’s basically one easy through ball against a high line, similar to a counter attacking movement.
We have also improved at corner defending, but it is still a weakness. Vicario is clearly working on being more proactive and aggressive, but it’s still a relative weakness.
We are overall showing positive signs, but I don’t totally disagree with carrager that we are ‘easy’ to play against in the sense that there are clear ways to beat us. Low block, wait for a space to open behind us, or win a set piece and you’ve got a good chance.

He really spat those facts at Carragher.

I really really hope that the main effect of a positive result at old Trafford is to make these silly silly media narratives go away.

Remember, Carragher, Neville, O’Hara etc aren’t journalists – the truth isn’t their goal. They’re paid to be inflammatory, get people clicking on their articles, sharing their videos, and tuning in live to hear what they’re going to come out with next. That article is bait, Carragher is dangling it on a hook, and by arguing, “profspur” is taking it, hook, line, and sinker.
You’re not proving him wrong – you’re earning him a bonus and a contract renewal with a payrise.

Imagine telling a manager with 20+ years of experience, who has brought success everywhere he’s gone, and who has worked his ass off to get where he is, that *he* is the one who must change. I know it’s the job of a pundit to have talking points like this, but it’s still funny.

It’s going to continue until we start performing more consistently against the top 6, but I believe that’s coming

Ange at Celtic .. amazing to watch , blew lesser teams away.
Champions league – played lovely football , went toe to toe but eventually couldn’t properly compete .
He’s a great manager but without the compete 15 , he’s never going to achieve greatness .
He will get you top 8 every season , mainly 5 or 6th – accept it ?
Spurs – you need a proper wide left and a wide right player to ale it work – with son in behind Solanke.
