Gary Neville does NOT consider Liverpool title contenders.

  1. Objectively based on what? We finished seven points behind Arsenal last season. I wouldn’t call this well below them, so if last season we weren’t that far from them what makes us so below them this season when we are playing miles better than the last few months of last year?

  2. Honestly would be worried if Neville said we are title contenders. That would be a glitch in the matrix.

What you get with Neville is wishful thinking rather than reasoned analysis. He shouldn’t be allowed near Liverpool games.

  4. After he’s said this, I’ve never been more confident of #20 in May. That melt has made a career of being wrong.

  5. “After wolves performance” did he not see that Arsenal were 3 minutes away from drawing to Leicester?

And let’s not act like wolves is some easy place to go to pretty sure City lost there last season

Whenever gary shits on Liverpool, Liverpool always end up pulling something crazy. Like that 7-0 against United

With Gravenberch playing the way he is – just need Szobo to play to his potential consistently and we are very very tough to play. Feel like we have the talent just with the system change/new coach it’s a bit clunky but we are still doing very well

No high pitched screaming from his yesterday, that balloon was deflated very very early.

In Erik we trust – his to his usual flat track win that buys him more time & the media eulogising how they’re back.

The only way we’re lower than City and Arsenal this season is based on the lower number of Goals we’ll concede this season. Alisson and Kweev are gonna pull a double Oblak this season (More Clean Sheets than Goals Conceded) and VVD is gonna win the Ballon D’Or he so deserved.

(For legal purposes, this is satire. But we are absolutely title contenders)

  10. They’re below City, brave enough call to say at this stage that they are definitely behind Arsenal. How many of this current Liverpool team have broken 90 + points on more than one occasion?

  11. Neville speaks in hyperbole so this is his way we’re not at there level….and he’s right. I think it’s really a benefit we didn’t play anyone strong out of the gate so Slot has some time to get his tactics straight with the team and have them get used to them. We’re not at that level….yet….but we certainly aren’t now.

You mean the Arsenal that barely eked out a win in stoppage time against a recently promoted team?

Gary completely lost any good reputation he had as a pundit blindly backing Ole…he’s just a rentagob drifting around without a cause.

Sure, last season didn’t end great but it’s almost like people forget Liverpool were on top with 7 or 8 games to go.

  15. we are a way off City and arsenal, we have a new coach and a new system.

We will see where we are at mid season, but we haven’t played anyone decent beyond United, and well they’re barely a top 8 team. People need to not get carried away so early in the year.

A few injuries and we could really struggle

  16. Don’t think we are “well below” . Personally think it’s too early to tell , we haven’t exactly played a good/ in form team yet.

Only 5 games in and we could most definitely be in contention but it’s too early

  17. Slot needs to spank Arsenal and City in their backyard to gain respect. We’re playing well but it’s a new coach with new tactics. Takes time to get respect in PL.

Loss to Forrest didn’t help the narrative.

  18. Seeing as he had Manchester United finishing third less than a month ago, I think this is fantastic news
