"…According to The Sunday Times, this change was voted on and agreed by all 20 Premier League clubs, signalling a collective desire to bring more order to the transfer process. The idea is that by closing the window before the first game of the season, teams will have their squads set in stone, allowing for greater focus and stability as the season gets underway…"

  1. They tried that a few years ago and it lasted one summer before they went back to the current format.

  2. I thought there was a rumor going around that agreement was being put in place with some of the other top leagues

  3. Sounds good for the league except for clubs who lose players with release clauses late on.

Probably needs some sort of protection for clubs that lose a player. Would be proper shite for a smaller club where half a season without one of their better players could easily see them down.

  4. So we done this once before, now we’ll do it again. It will be reversed once again, when other leagues dont do the same.
